Signing up

• Click on Sign up button (location: upper right)
• Choose a site creation option: website, blog, or store.
• Choose a “theme” (a template) for your website
• Choose your website’s domain name
• Add a title to your website

Name Your Website/Domain Name

(his is the URL address/link to your website)

• Click on Publish (corner, upper right), name your website and click on Continue.
• You can also edit the site name & URL address in the web-editing program by selecting Settings from the upper ribbon (strip) section.

Add a Title

• If you’re using a template, you can click within the title frame and type in a title.
• If you are not using a template, drag and drop a text element from the menu on the left.

Add a layout (a webpage template)

• In the web-editing program, you can change  “theme” of your website by clicking on Theme (upper ribbon section).

Upload documents:

• Videos
• PDFs
• Word files
• Images

Images

• Use the image gadget/widget on the left. Drag and drop it into web page. Click on it to activate it. Upload an image from your computer.

Video

• 1) Use the YouTube gadget/widget on the left (under Media). Drag and drop it into web page. Click on it to activate it. Go to the YouTube video. Click on Share (under video title). Copy and paste the Share link code into the YouTube widget/gadget.
• 2) Use the Embed Code element located on the left menu. Drag and drop it into your web page. Click on it to activate it. Find the embed code. In YouTube, Click on Share (under video title) and select Embed. Copy embed ode and paste it into the Embed Code widget/gadget. Click outside of this box to activate it.

Word and PDF files

• Use the Document widget, (located under media). Drag and drop it into web page section. Click inside it to activate it. Follow prompt to upload your document.

Note: PDF file contents are displayed/visible in webpage.

Add Tabs/Pages

• Click on Pages (location: upper ribbon/strip section). From the menu on the left, click on the plus sign (next to text that reads: Pages). Select what kind of page you want. Name your page. Click Done to activate it. A blog page includes Author, Archives, Categories sections, and an RSS feed to your blog page. A standard page is blank.

Preview Your Website

• Select computer screen icon (location: upper ribbon, mid page) for desktop and computer preview options. This does not save your work.

Save Your Work

• Weebly does not automatically save your work. You have to hit Publish to save your work, otherwise, it’s lost!

Edit Tabs/Pages

Click on Pages (location: upper ribbon/strip section). From the menu on the left. Select your page to edit.

Add a Webpage to your Website

(for example, link to a government web page)

• Click on Pages (location: upper ribbon/strip section) from the menu on the left. Select External Page. Copy and paste a URL address into the External Link box (location: menu on left). Make sure you don’t repeat the http:// section (or it won’t work).  Name your page. Click Done.
• To change external link/tab name, select your external page simply retype the name/link info and click back to pages.

Note: Publish to make changes permanent/visible in your public website. External page will not display in the edition program or in the preview.

Delete Tabs/Pages

• Click on Pages (location: upper ribbon/strip section). Select your page. Click on it. Select Delete.

Delete Items

• Click on the upper right checkbox with the X on it.

Edit Your Webpages

• In the dashboard page, click on Edit Site button (upper left)

Go to Dashboard Page

• In your webpage, click on X (extreme upper left)

Publish Your Website

• In your webpage, click on Publish (extreme upper right)
• Any time you make a change, click Publish.

Delete or Copy Website

• In the dashboard page, click on ellipsis (…) located on the upper right.

Create more Websites

(Weebly lets you create 10 for free)

• In the dashboard page, click on the down arrow next to My Site (upper left). Select Add Site.

Go to Another of Your Websites

• In the dashboard page, click on the down arrow next to My Site (upper left). Select your website. The link to this should now appear under My Site. Click on the link to edit the webpage.

Create a Slideshow

• Drag and drop the Slideshow element from the left.  Add photos. Click within the box to edit transition timing.

Parallax

(3d background effect when you scroll)

• Not available.

Add Parallax to an Image Strip

• Not available.

Logout

• From the dashboard page, click on your name (corner, upper right) and select logout from the dropdown list.
• If you are in the editing program, click on the X (corner, upper left) to go to the dashboard page.
