Bringing 19th-Century Black Organizing to Digital Life: From 1830 until well after the Civil War, African Americans gathered across the United States and Canada to participate in political meetings held at the state and national levels. A cornerstone of Black organizing in the nineteenth century, these “Colored Conventions” brought Black men and women together in a decades-long campaign for civil and human rights.

Every poem published in Midst is an interactive timelapse. Hit play to rewind the poem back to its beginnings and see exactly how it was written—start to finish, blank page to final draft, and every edit in between.

Native Land is an interactive digital map that shows the traditional territories, languages, and treaties of Indigenous peoples around the world. The map helps users learn about the original inhabitants of any location by allowing them to search addresses or explore different regions to see which Indigenous nations historically lived there. Created as an educational tool, the map aims to increase awareness of Indigenous history and encourage people to think more critically about the land they live on and its original stewards.
