Keywords are essential in conducting research. They connect you with resources that may or may not be relevant to your search. It is important to be aware that some researchers use different keywords to write about the same topic. Here are some basic keywords you can use to look for articles on graphic novels (español):

  • historieta
  • cómics
  • novela gráfica
  • narrativa gráfica
  • tebeo
  • viñeta
  • tiras cómicas
  • comix
  • técnica
  • distribution
  • production

You can also use:

  • Author's name
  • Political, cultural, or social issue
  • Specific year
  • Country name
  • Literary device

Due to the specificity of Hispanic graphic novels, it is important to not be extremely specific in this case to expose the most information available on a certain keyword.
