Why do I have to use primary sources?
Primary sources "provide a window into the past" and gives the reader "unfiltered access to the record of artistic, social, scientific and political thought and achievement during the specific period under study, produced by people who lived during that period." (Library of Congress, n.d.)
Primary sources help you to develop critical thinking skills through analysis, prior knowledge, questioning, and making inferences. They help you construct knowledge and provide conclusions based on evidence.
