The Power of Names: Personal Names

Supports the Univ 1301 section "The Power of Names"

Personal Names

Personal names include given names (also called first names or Christian names), surnames (family names), nicknames, pseudonyms, eponyms, and names in literature. An eponym is the name of a person for whom something is named. For example,  William Thomson, Lord Kelvin is the eponym for the unit of measurement - the kelvin - of the thermodynamic temperature scale which he invented.
