Interdisciplinary Technology & Science : Formatting - MLA

MLA

There are an infinite number ways of formatting a paper, and there are still a large number of paper formal styles.  Most formatting styles handle citations within the text, endnotes/footnotes, and the works cited page.  Some of the most notable styles include APA, Chicago and MLA.

For this class, you will only use the MLA style.

MLA is published by the Modern Language Association.

Citation Managers

There are programs that will help you keep track of your citations and format them appropriately for you.

Three of the top are Endnote, Refworks, and Zotero.

Endnote and Refworks are paid software that we use through a University Library license.  Zotero is free software.

There are libguides on navigating Refworks and Zotero.
