What is Journal Citation Reports?

JCR is a journal evaluation resource tool that provides statistical information based on citation data drawn from a wide range of scholarly and technical journals tracked in Web of Science. Subject coverage includes virtually all subdisciplines in the areas of science, technology, and the social sciences. Our subscription coverage includes 2003 - present.

Journal Citation Reports can show:

  • Most frequently cited journals in a field

  • Hottest journals in a field

  • Highest impact journals in a field

  • Leading journals in a field

  • Related journals in a field

  • Citation characteristics for a subject category

JCR uses Thomson Reuters (ISI Web of Knowledge) citation data.
