How to borrow a book from the library:

Once you find a physical book in the catalog, you'll need to find it in the library using its call number, this is like an address for a book. It will be listed on the item's record under "Physical Copy Availability". The "LOCATE" button will show you a map of the floor that the item is located on. You can also refer to the quick reference image below or download a full map of the library.
To check something out (borrow) from the Library, take it to the Access Services Desk, just past the scanners at the entrance
Make sure you bring your Miner Gold Card (your ID card)

What is TexShare ?

The purpose of the TexShare program is to support and enhance resource sharing among Texas academic and public libraries.
The UTEP Library is a participating member of TexShare
If you need to use materials at another participating TexShare Library you may obtain a TexShare card at the UTEP Library

Through the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) system, the Library is able to borrow materials it doesn't own or have access to from other institutions throughout the country. This service is available free of charge to UTEP faculty, staff and students.
The average time for returnables (physical items) is from 7 to 11 business days. Scanned Articles/Book Chapters are delivered electronically and they usually arrive in 24-72 hours. Requests sent internationally usually take considerably longer.
