The UTEP Career Center offers general career guidance, including a wide variety of services and resources that can help you explore career options that align with your interests and values.The Career Center offers career advising, one-on-one help in crafting your resume, mock interviews, and workshops on a number of career-related topics. Career Information

  • Occupational Outlook Handbook (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics) - provides an overview of various occupations. It includes information about the nature of work, working conditions, training and education, salaries, and expected job growth. 
  • O*NET Online (U.S. Department of Labor) - Source of highly detailed descriptions of hundreds of occupations covering the entire U.S. economy.
  • Vault Career Intelligence - database that provides comprehensive information pertaining to careers and vocational guidance.
  • CareerOneStop (data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics) - career and job search resources.

The school-to-work transition attempts to help students move easily from the classroom to the workforce and this video provides clear, unequivocal information about the resume and the interview. Learn why employers like resumes and what kinds of information should be included. See the different styles of resumes and why one style might be preferable to another. The interviewing process will also be covered, including an overview of what the employer hopes to learn. The video will not only provide a clear idea of what kinds of questions viewers can expect but also give behavior do’s and don’ts.
