Signing up
|
- Click on Stat Now button in middle of Webpage. Then click on Sign up.
- Select Create Your Website (blue button). Choose what kind of website you want.
- From the "What kind of website do you want to create?" section, choose Designer.
- From the next options, (Wix Editor & Wix Artificial Design.) choose Wix Editor. We're building it by hand. (You can also browse templates by looking them up on the left, in the search option)
- Next, pick your template, click on it and select Edit to start working on it. You can also choose a blank template from the options on the left, under View by.

Name Your Website/Domain Name
(This is the URL address/link to your website)
|
(or change the domain name)
- Click on Publish button (upper right). Name your website. Click Save & Continue.
- Click on Save button (upper right). You will get a pop-up box. This allows you to edit the name of your website.
You can also edit the site name & URL address in the dashboard page.

Add a Title
|
- Select add (plus sign) button (from menu on left), or click on template text box and edit text
|
|
Add a layout (a webpage template)
|
Once you choose one when creating a new website, you can’t change it.
|
|
Upload documents:
- Videos
- PDFs
- Word files
- Images
|
Document
Select add (plus sign) button (from menu on left), scroll down to More. Under Document Buttons section, select what type of file it is (e.g., PowerPoint, PDF, Word file.). Drag and drop it into your webpage. Click on Upload Docs (upper right red button). After you select & upload a file, click on Add to Page.
Note: PDF file contents are not displayed/visible in webpage. You have to download them so view these.
Video
- Select add (plus sign) button (from menu on left), scroll down to More. You can embed a site or a video. To embed a YouTube video, select this widget and drag and drop it into your webpage. Then, select Edit Code. In YouTube, Click on Share (under video title) and select Embed. Copy embed ode and paste it into the Embed Code widget/gadget.
- Select add (plus sign) button (from menu on left), scroll down to Video. Select YouTube/Vimeo video. Right click on mouse. Select Change Video. Go to the YouTube video. Click on Share (under video title). Copy and paste the Share link code into the YouTube widget/gadget.
Images
- Select add (plus sign) button (from menu on left), select Image. Click on this to open it. Click on Upload Images (upper right red button). After you select & upload a file, click on Add to Page.

Add Tabs/Pages
|
- Select Pages (Upper left) to activate dropdown pop-up menu. Click on Add Page (blue button). Or delete page by clicking on ellipses (…) and selecting Delete.

Preview Your Website
|
Preview button, (Upper right corner). This does not save your work.
|
|
Save Your Work
|
- Wix does not automatically save your work. Hit Save (location: upper right) button as you change things. Additionally, you have to hit Publish again to make the changes in your public website visible.

Edit Tabs/Pages
|
- To edit your site, select your site from My Sites section (location: upper ribbon, on left.). Next, click on Manage Site button (blue button, upper left). In the my site section, on top of the page, click on the blue Edit Site button.

Add a Webpage to your Website
(for example, link to a government web page)
|
Click on Pages (corner, upper left). Select Add Page (blue button). You can select which page to sandwich this external page between. Select Link. Select Web Adress from bubble options, and add external link. Click Done. Be sure to Publish to make your changes permanent/visible in the public website.

Delete Tabs/Pages
|
- Select Pages (Upper left) to activate dropdown pop-up menu. Delete a page by clicking on ellipses (…) and selecting Delete.

|
Delete Items
|
Hover your cursor over the item, select the item. Press delete key on your keyboard.
|
|
Edit Your Webpages
|
- In the dashboard section, go to My Sites (Upper left). Select Manage Site (blue button). Click on Edit Site (white and blue buttons).

|
Go to Dashboard Page
|
- Click on Site (location: upper ribbon/strip section) and scroll down to & select My Dashboard
|
|
Publish Your Website
|
- Click on Publish button (upper right). Name your website. Save & Continue.
|
|
Delete or Copy Website
|
- In the dashboard page, select your website from My Sites list (upper left). Click on Manage Site (blue button). Click on Delete or Duplicate button (middle of page).

|
Create more Websites
|
In the dashboard page, go to My Sites (upper left). Click and select Create a New Site.
|
|
Go to Another of Your Websites
|
- In the dashboard page, go to My Sites (upper left). Find your site and then click on Select Site. Next, click on Manage Site to edit it.
|
|
Create a Slideshow
|
- Select add (plus sign) button (from menu on left), select Slideshow. To change images, select My Image Uploads. Right click and select Settings (or Sprocket tool)

|
Parallax
(3d background effect when you scroll)
|
- Select add (plus sign) button (from menu on left), select Strip. In the parallax section, choose one and drag & drop it into your webpage. To change the images, click on images and find Change Images (gray button).
|
|
Add Parallax to an Image Strip
|
- First, add an image strip. Select add (plus sign) button (from menu on left), select Strip. Drag & drop it into your webpage.
- To change image, select Change Strip Background (gray button). Click on Image and pick one. Click Change Background (lower right button) to Finalize.
- To add parallax to an image strip, click on Change Strip Background (gray button). Next, click on Settings button. Select parallax. Click on Preview button (upper right) to see changes in effect.
- To make image strip zoom in, click on Settings button. Select zoom in. Click on Preview button (upper right) to see changes in effect.

Move stuff around.
|
- To move stuff up and down, use the down arrow icon (circled below in yellow.).
- To move stuff left and right, grab it by the gray points and expand or retract it. Or, hover the mouse cursor over the image and let it turn into four-points/arrows, then drag it where you want.

Remove or change sections of a template.
|
- Select the image/text/section you want to get rid of. Right click on the mouse. Select Design.
|
|
Logout
|
- In the dashboard page, go to the user icon (corner, upper right). Click and select logout.
- To get to the dashboard from the web editing program, go to Site (ribbon section, upper left). Select My Dashboard from dropdown menu.
